HID lights, icy blue in color, are not as good as LEDs as they produce high amounts of glare and can cost as much as $1,000 to replace, according to Fred Snow, an executive at Hella, an automotive lighting company. Fred worked at a display at the Specialty Equipment Market Association.

Cadillac will be putting LEDs in their Escalades, and Lexus LS and Lincoln Navigators will also be using LEDs as headlights in the near future.
